Media player interrupted.... music stalls.... argh

Pls help.... when I play my mp3’s or video something will interrupt them. It pauses them or for a few seconds or so... {may not be using right terms}... Media player is what I am using. It happens with MusicMatch also. Either when another program running or a webpage I open. When I am editing in Windows Explorer also. I installed additional memory but that didn’t help. It’s making me nutssssssssss.

Any help would be truly appreciated. Thank you.

is your disk getting full?
when was the last time you defragged your HD?
you could try a player that uses less CPU.
WMP and MMJB are memory hogs
i hear WinAMP or FooBar2000 leave a smaller memory footprint.
