falcon47 Guest | Hi,
Got a new computer 2.8 ghz and 160 gig hard drive and a gig of memory running xp pro.
I used to be able to play mpeg links that came to me in my email, but now I can’t play them. When I click on them the windows media player will start and try to play the link but then get a Exception Information message.
If someone has or knows how to correct this or needs the actual error message write me at

I can send it to you in email.
This is driving me crazy and can’t figure out why I can just play the links I recieve in email any more.
I can play regular video clips I download but not the links.
Anyone have any ideas?

Technical_Sp. Guest | hmmmm did you install DirectShow , or you can check the settings in WMP by clicm Tools/Options
after that check the setting in click Network Tab

falcon47 Guest | Hmmm, I checked and Driect Show was checked but not sure if I loaded it or not. I think it was because it used to work the links in my email messages.
I also got my network protocol settings are set to Autodetect too. But I am not sure what the Use Ports need to be set at, right now they are 7000-7007.
