FourCC code error

Hi people. I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM!!! i have recovered my video files from a damaged drive, everything ok but some of them (137 out of 150) i cannot play. i cannot open the file with any program (even VirtualDub) I found out that all of this files have the FourCC code error. its displays more than 4 characters (something like this: ?%^|"£$) i tryed to change it but nothing. after the change it remains with an error ("$%?=divx something like that). please if anybody knowsd the solution for this problem - help!!!!
