Help with burning Dvds !!

Hey, I’m trying to burn some DVD’s of moives I’ve downloaded, Passion of the chirst for example, and Bum fights... etc


But Its telling me there the wrong file type, Cause there either avi, or MPEG, or what have you, and I’m sure you have to have to change them into the proper file type.

So my question is,.. what file type do i have to make these into, and what program should i use (also please suggest the best programs for burning dvds)
