ZeppedyDooDaa Guest | I have a few DVDs that were originally authored with Mpeg-1(mp2) audio that won’t play from my receiver until I change the input from digital to analog. Not that big of a deal but I prefer seeing the digital signal there and not have to change things around everytime i play those dvds
If I convert the original to WAV and then ac3, everything is happy with my receiver and it sounds great. Is this doing much of a disservice to the audio? I know I can just leave it as a wav file and it will be PCM audio but all PCM audio I’ve done so far had wierd sort of “beeps” at times, especially when something bright flashes on the screen. Kinda tough to explain but I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t like PCM audio even though it’s lossless. In this case, it was lossy to begin with so leaving it as a WAV would be lossy PCM anyway right? |
