Converted to mpeg using VCDgear: bin-mpeg. Then used ConvertX2DVD. Plays in any DVD player now. Only thing I could do with Nero is create VCD’s on CD-Rs.

Thank you so much for the help. I was missing the vcdgear piece until now.

Hi there. I am trying to burn a movie to a DVD. I have it as a cue, bin, nrg and iso file but can’t seem to get it to convert to a DVD or VCD. When I use Nero Burning Rom it saves on a CD but doesn’t play on my DVD player. What can I do to burn it as a DVD?

I just went to nero started create a dvd video and then chose add files when you go to the files you want, add the bin and cue file by selcting both and adding them at the same time it worked for me goodluck.

hey jimboo, that doesnt work for me. i used vcd gear to convert it to mpeg 1. then i used convertXtoDVD and it doesnt work. always.. the only way i can burn a dvd is if it started in avi format and then use convertX to change it to dvd format. is there another way i could try and see if it works for me

i just burnt some BIN/CUE files to my cd-r and it stopped at 95% or something like that. it said there was a tracker problem. i put it in my dvd player anyway and it played, will it play all the way through? because i don’t wont to start watching a film and not see the end.

U need Nero...or a program like it...on Nero, make sure u put ur cdr in the drive (not DVDR)...then go to the bin file, right click the image file, click open with, choose Nero, it may say unexpected file format, click ok...ignore that...go to file then new...click No Multisession...click cancel...then go back to file and go to options...go to the expert features tab...all of theses shall be checked and nothing else...(Enable Disc-at-one CD overburning, Absolute Maximum Burning Size...then change that to 84:00:00,and Enable generation of short lead out)click apply! Then go to file again and click open...browse to the spot ur bin file is saved to, then click the image file, cue file (not the bin file) and hit open...burn speed should pop up and burn at 8X...if u don’t have 8X, do the lowest it will allow...probably 16X....I have burned them on that speed with no probs yet. Here is a link in case u get lost or have Nero 6....good luck!

C:\Users\HOME\Documents\Downloads\Shrek 3 (2007) TFE TELESYNC KvCD Hockney(TUS Release)\Burning KVCD Guide - Open with FF or IE.htm

Copy and Paste that...u should have no probs!!

Reply...yes u need to install a codec packet, because ur player on ur computer does not have them....if u have Vista, Vista has a great codec package...u can find it if u search for VistaCodec Package, or find a package called K-Lite...it has all the codecs u need (most ppl anyway) but some may suggest other codec packages....just try and look up what is the best codec package! Then it will be fine! All will play...good luck!

Its rather easy. Just download VCDgear.
1. Convert Bin/Cue to MPEG (it is clearly stated in VCDGear)
2. Put the MPEG file on a dvd, with your dvdburner.
Think that’s it.

I have an AVI video file and trying playing it with Real Player, Window Media, etc but it came up with an error message, “cannot play back the file. The format is not supported”. How do I open the file with any of the entertainment players?
