Burning mkv file to DVD keeping subs

Hi, i’ve been trying to burn a mkv file onto a dvd but Nero doesn’t recognise the file format. I’ve seen threads here earlier with people who’s got the same problem but the solution then has been to convert it into an avi file. That however would remove the subtitles that exists in the mkv file. I want to keep them...

A solution anyone?
