anonymous Guest | DRM means digital rights management and it’s a method to prevent unauthorized viewing or copying of windows media contents. you usually have to download a license or something to view the file (it’s on a per-file basis).
As for your problem d00d was suggesting the file you want to play may be protected by DRM, which would prevent you from viewing it. It’s really hard to say without knowing more about the file you want to play.
If it’s a codec problem (unlikely, since you have the latest version of Windows Media Player), all I can suggest is feed the file into avicodec and find out what video codec you’re missing.

mavs Guest | thanks for the info anonymous...really appreciate for the explantion. you are right, i dont think i lack some codecs because i just downloaded some aside from updating my WMP v10. i think the file is just DRM files. so is there any way of viewing the file? can the sender of the file change the properties or authorization properties so i could view the file? i guess i will ask the one sending it to me. thanks again for the info anony...take care!

mavs Guest | hi again anonymous...i just did what you told me...downloaded AVIcodec and feed the file. It says that that V.codec as well as A.1codec name is Windows Media Video 9. I think Window Media Player 10 supports that aye? Anyways, just letting you know...thanks! | |
