no level of standard hex editing will remove the DRM (unless you knew what the original file’s hex looked like...). that would be WAY too easy for Micro$oft to let that happen, since someone could simply write up a script to patch WMV’s and WMA’s, in just one afternoon.
however, someone DID write a program that will patch the WMA, effectively removing the DRM from all WM files, but you NEED the licence in order to DO that. not sure WHY you don’t want to download the licence (it’s NOT personally identifiable, simply limits your playing for that PC), unless they’re trying to CHARGE you to do it, in which case, your only (free) option is to find a NON-DRMed version of that file (preferably MPG or AVI, since they are non-DRM ALWAYS!).
sorry for your luck.

... fairuse4wm (original)
http://www.yourfilehost.com/media.php?cat=other&file=2006_12_09_DRM_FIX.zip
... fix + fairuse4wm (if you’ve got windows media player 11 final running already and don’t want to bother manually downgrading to 11-beta)
These both remove DRM from the header structure of WMV video files.

Rocky Guest | Or just two machines, just enough to play the file and another in the super computer range on the capture end.
