Losing sound when fastfowarding WMA v2 files

For some reason I tend to lose sound when I try to fastfoward/rewind a WMV file, specifically with a WMA v2 codec. Also this only happens with WMP. I have deleted and reinstalled every codec packs out there and the problem persists. Any known causes of this problem?
