VLC dont work

Hallo!!

I got a problem with my VideoLan player...

It dont seem to play any files.. my films are in .avi format, but it just wont play it..
This happened after i re-installed Windows..

Plus, I used to just drag the .bin files into the VLC player, but that dont work ether, it used to..

HELP PLAESE!!!!

Since your files are avi you might want to find out what the fourcc or codec is. Use one of the tools on this page

thanks!!!! but i still have the same problem...

I got some .avi files that can be played.. like music videos ... but movies I still can’t play... even tho I did before my re-installation..

What’s wrong??

It’s really hard to tell. People on file sharing networks tend to mangle filenames and extensions so much you can hardly tell what the contents are. I would just try opening the file with as many different programs as I can. Here’s some you can try: videoinspector, avicodec, media player classic, videolan, real player, winrar, and a cd burning program (in case it’s a cd image).

I found the problem...

I had a crash on my PC a few days ago, and the files got destroyed in that crash.. with 620 MP3-files...

I don’t know what you mean by “crash” in this case, but the fact that you lost 620 mp3 files resembles the payload of the 'i love you' worm from 2001 (not to say that there’s not new viruses or worms out there that also target mp3’s). You might want to do an antivirus scan on your hard disk.
