dovla7 Guest | After splitting mpeg file then burning to 2 CDs, the first CD plays, the 2nd returns error, incorrect file format. However both are from the same Mpeg file and both have an Mpeg ext?

anonymous Guest | What program did you use to split the file? If you just chopped it with HJSplit or MasterSplitter it’ll just cut in the middle without adding any proper header information necessary to play the second file. Imagine a spreadsheet document you cut in the middle. Without the proper information at the start of the split file there’s no way to tell it’s a spreadsheet file, how many rows, how many columns, or what point in the spreadsheet you’re at. The proper way to split is to use the simple 'merge & cut' tools under file, MPEG tools in TMPGEnc.

What if I was to strip the beginning of the Mpeg (approx 30 secs), then lead in with the 2nd part of the Mpeg file. Would this work?
If not thanks for the advice I’ll try TMPEG.

anonymous Guest | It’s highly unlikely to work. If you’re extremely lucky and happen to split at the right place where the next frame is expected then it might work, but I wouldn’t count on it.
