Converted avi to vob.Audio and Video Out of Sync

I converted a avi file to vob format.
1.I used VirtualDub first and saved the original avi file
2.Converted the avi file to vob using DivxToDVD
3.Burnt the vob files as DVD VIDEO using Nero 7 burning ROM.
When i played the DVD in my PC i found out that the video and audio is out of sync.It was working fine when i played the original avi i had.
I also tried using the Nero Vision and disabled the “smart encoding” option on the “video options” dialogue box but i am getting a Transcoding Error.
