Another really good thing about Shareaza is the user interface is designed perfectly. It looks good and is really easy to use. But, if Limewire is faster and has any other advantages, then it’s better. I’ll just have to wait and see. Which reminds me, I just finished downloading Far Cry last night, and it works perfectly. I need to get back to playing it. If anyone wants the torrent to download it just give me your e-mail and I’ll send it. It comes with a crack so you don’t need the disc, and a CD key, but you don’t need the CD key. Now I have to find out if it’s as good a game as it looks. It surely won’t be as good as Half-Life 2. lol try downloading Half-Life 2! It would be impossible to get a working version for free.

Yo Guest | Go ahead and try it you will be impressed. As i have tryed both programs and there both good, but limewire is better. Its really easier to use than shareaza and when you search something its almost instant unlike shareaza. Shareaza is slower because its searching more networks, but the guantle(not spelled right) is one of the largest networks for p2p and thats what shareaza looks at the most. But limewire just connects to that one, making it faster. But ppl have there own opinons.

So, if I make it only use that, it should search faster. I still haven’t tried out Limewire, but next time I want to download something I’ll find it and give it a go. I remember ages ago I tried using it at my old school when Kazaa wouldn’t work. But I only downloaded one thing, that was an older version and I can’t even remember what it was like.

Yo Guest | Its easier to use than shareaza, and when i use shareaza that all it connects to is the Gnutella2. If i switch i hardly get any search results. But dont get me wrong i use shareaza for my torrent files and i use limewire for the games and music.. Limewire is without a doubt the best for music. I use both programs to get all the good stuff, because one is just not good enough to get everything, they both have there flaws...

I find Shareaza just doesn’t work for torrents. I use Azureus for that, which is perfect. I just got Limewire last night, seems to work well. I wouldn’t say it’s easier to use than Shareaza, and Shareaza gives you more information about each download. I should probably try a direct comparison for downloading music. I could search for a song on both, see which gets more results faster, and which gives faster downloads. That would be interesting.

Yo Guest | Cartman.....Try both, but if your a newbie then go with limewire, if you know your p2p than shareaza isn’t a bad choice. But it depends on what you are looking for, this is what i have experienced and would be glad to here others opions as well.........
Limewire=The best for music,games,and some software.
Shareaza=The best for software and Cracks.It has many games as well, but if limewire doesnt have it, neither will shareaza(so just go with limewire) and i like to use torrents with shareaza.
Kazaa=The best for spyware,adware,trojans, and good ole viruses. Just leave this program alone, as its good for nothing.
As far as speeds are concerned then i would say limewire is the fastest. I just downloaded a game with 3cds in 9 hours.That is fast concendering it was over 2gb.

Although Limewire reached a higher peak, it disconnected close to the end, so that wasted some time. Sheareaza was more consistent, so I think the download finished in more or less the same time (both files were around the same size). Also, Shareaza returned results slightly faster, and provided around twice as many results as Limewire. And of course, Shareaza provided more info on the downloads, but that’s not what I’m testing. So, I think Shareaza wins the first test, as for the second, I’m doing the same thing but with a very rare song. Shareaza is downloading it now, so when I’ve seen how Limewire fares I’ll post the results for this test. I would have to do more than 2 tests to come up with anything accurate, but this will at least give an idea of how they compare.

What is really strange is that Limewire downloaded the second song faster than the first, even though the second one is so rare probably only 1 in 1000 people will have heard of the artist. Could just be coincidence, and like I said I would have to do more tests to come up with something more accurate. This has probably been done by some websites anyway. If anyone knows a website where a test like this has been done, please post a link.

If so, then here’s the answer: if you download a game that isn’t freeware, it’s illegal. But of course, most people just don’t give a damn. That’s why it’s so easy to download music, games, movies etc for free, and why there are so many millions of people doing it. The fact is, you’re probably more likely to win the lottery than to be caught for downloading pirated things, so who gives a damn? It’s not like all those industries don’t make enough money anyway. Anyone saying it’s immoral to do such things needs to get real, because the only people losing money are already earning more than they should be. Illegal downloading is a victimless crime, so it’s OK.
