Frustrated Guest | Almost every movie I open in Windows Media player 9 causes WMP to search online for codec and doesn’t find it. Movie still plays with sound but seeking is no longer an option on some vids (mostly DIVX) and WMP crashes alot now. This is the “Four CC” I got from clicking web help on error message window. Can’t seem to find it anywhere or even a name for it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance. =O)

a69ukcouple Guest | Have been having the same problem. Found that in most of our cases that real player version 10.5 works. Also Quick Time Player version 6.5.2.

topcat139 Guest | That id number is for an mpeg2 program stream. It means that you haven’t got an mpg2 decoder.
The easiest thing to do is use FFdshow, it now includes mpg2 decoding as well as mpg1, it does a better job at the mpg1 than the built in 'quartz' MS decoder.
When installing it be sure to check the mpeg1 and 2 as should be supported. It handles most audio you’ll come across as well.
luck,
topcat
