I have an problem with na avi file. The audio codec required to play it is tag 2000 which works fine as does the video codec. However when i convert this to an mpeg file the video decompression works fine but the sound doesn’t work. I have used gspot and no errors where reported. It appears as though the tag 2000 audio codec will not decompress. Any ideas? Cheers

anonymous Guest | I’m not as familiar with audio codecs as I am with video ones, but here’s a shot in the dark. Is the audio codec directshow instead of acm? I remember tmpgenc wouldn’t open video files with directshow codecs (as opposed to vfw codecs) unless you applied this trick described by Frightfo0in thread 754: “open TMPGEnc and go to Option>Environmental setting>VFAPI plug-in and give 'DirectShow Multimedia File Reader' a priority of 4."

anonymous Guest | And also make sure you’re doing system stream (audio + video). Elementary stream (audio + video) leaves the video and audio separated into two different files. (an m1v for video and mpa for audio for mpeg-1 for example)
