I can hear music soundtrack but not the sound when playing DVDs on my pc

I can hear the music soundtrack but i cant hear the sound of the film when playing DVDs on my computer, (I have windows XP). And this problem is occuring with all media players I have. I tried to uninstall the soundcard driver but it didnt work. Can u help me please?

WBG Guest If it was an .avi, i’d tell you to get the xvid codec (you should try that anyway. Everyone should have it.) Winamp and WindowsMediaPlayer are - for playing dvd’s, not really good. i would advise you to download VLC media player. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
