The program the Panasonic supplies doesn’t allow me to extract the file and I can’t finalize the disc. I need another way to get the file onto my computer so I can edit it. Any suggestions?

carrot Guest | SmartRipper is a tool used to decrypt (rip) commercial DVDs onto your hard disk. It will grab the encrypted VOB’s from the DVD and decrypt them to unencrypted VOB’s on your hard disk. From there people use FlaskMPEG to edit the resulting VOB. I doubt the VOB’s on your DVD-RAM are encrypted, but I don’t see why something like SmartRipper wouldn’t be able to rip them to your hard disk. Worth a try.

An .IFO which is 2Kb, an .BUP which is 2Kb and the .VOB which is 37,756KB. I don’t know if that helps. I will give as much info as needed if it will help solve my problem.
