For example: the recently released game “Call of Juarez” got okay reviews on website reviews and magazine reviews, but the people who actually played the game said it was an awesome game.

Now I dont know wether to trust the reader reviews (the people who played it and reviewed it) or the websites review like IGN or Teamxbox.

Well as much as people don’t like to believe it usually sales speak a thousand words. Most of the time the better games are bought in bundles. Call of Juarez though has not sold well so your call.

But yes you can trust most reviews but from bigger sites such as Gamespot and IGN and 1UP. But don’t take reviews from smaller gaming sites as usually they can be quite bias. Oh man reading some Zelda TP reviews from a really small gaming site that I’ve never heard of was just disturbing haha. So if IGN and Gamespot rated it well then it’s probably a pretty good game. But it all comes down to your opinion.

Usually reading the previews in the reviews and watching videos is the best way to tell if your going to like a game.

Rent the game and make your own decisions instead of being brainwashed into buying something because of the media.

It is your choice on what to go with, but some magazines and websites are trusted. However there are times when it can be hard on what to follow, like the Spider-man 3 game. X-play said the wii version was the worst while the PS3 one was better. IGN said the wii spider-man 3 game was better but barely and that the other versons were worse, exepct the DS one.

I might go with cid, and speaking of renting...I rented shadowrun, and while it got, not-so-good reviews, i loved it. Awesome graphics, solid AI bots, plenty of weapons and magic, lots of maps.

While i dont have DSL and I only played with bots, I thought it was fun only with the bots. If it goes down atleast 10 bucks in price I would buy it.

Also sold 100k in it’s first 2 weeks in America.

Telling ya many don’t like to believe that sales make a game good but they always seem to be that way. Cause sales is really showing what the people want and a majority of people’s opinions usually overules a few people’s reviews.

But I still say stick with previews and videos.

Some sales can be contaminated by the namesake though. A Good example are games based on blockbuster movies. They generally experience good sales within the first weeks but most of them suck.
