burning 2 dvds(or a 2 sided dvd) to one disc

is there a way to copy a 2 sided DVD(or 2 DVDs) onto one disc? obviously you would need to shrink each disc to half the size of a full disc, but then how would you put the two VIDEO_TS files together to make it so its one disc? is this possible?
