Gary H. Guest | I installed and ran Spy Sweeper. Checked Kazaa and it wouldn`t open. Uninstalled Spy Sweeper and Kazaa. Tried to reinstall Kazaa and get the message “We have detected a problem with your computer which is possibly caused by a current or previous installation od a non-certified 'Kazaa” branded product. Would you like us to attempt to fix the problem? I click fix and continue. I then get “An error was encountered while trying to fix the problem. Kazaa Media Desktop installer will now quit." I have never installed any Kazaa product from anywhere except kazaa.com. I`ve used it several years w/o a problem. I ran Spy Sweeper and now have the problem. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Just figured out Guest | Gary,
I saw your post and was just as confused, but I just got it to work!
TWO PARTS TO CORRECT!!!
(1)
I tried to uninstall and reinstall but this did not work.
I went to my Spy Sweeper, clicked on the Results tab and then click on Session log.
This led me to the two files that were deleted.. (1)cd_clint.dll and (2)topsearch.dll. From other searches both of these .dll contain legitmate needed files to make Kazaa run plus additional spyware added in these .dll’s. Kazaa lite contains the spyware-free versions of these files. Spy Sweeper was right to detect it, but we should know that we already have the spyware-free version of the files and we should of told Spy Sweeper not to remove.
http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/kazaa/ht/disablecydoor.htm
explains part 1 and has the CLEAN version of cd_clint.dll file for download.
(2)
http://www.boycott-riaa.com/article/9367
explains part 2
You must go menus in Kazaa Lite and find the options portion, then click on the option that FORCES the supernode. Only versions below 2.5 allow you to force supernodes. Versions above 2.5 of Kazaa Lite do not allow this option.
Hope this helps.....

WORKs Guest | Go to:
http://kazaalite.pl
and download Kazaa Lite Revolutions
it works........and no spyware, adware, etc...
I tried it out and it works, but be sure to uninstall and then go to registry and remove all Kazaa keys and values.

Supernerd Guest | So ok, Kazaa won’t install. So you follow advice to download Kazaa Lite Resurrection... and find KLR will not connect.
*sigh*
K-Lite won’t work. KLR won’t connect. Kazaa won’t install. Do you think someone is trying to tell me something? ;-)
I’ve adjusted firewalls, tweaked this, that and the other.
I’ve even cleaned up my registry, just in case. Even got my anti-spyware clawing through my files.
Nothing!
I’ve tried sacrificing a Mac computer on an alter to the Microsoft Gods... Still nothing!
My only solution:
Cry and O/D on chocolate. :-))
