Problems With Playing Downloaded Videos ( possibly due to deleted programs )

Until recently when tried to play these movies it would say codec acquired at the bottom of the screen but would only play the sound. I think that this may be due to the fact that a couple of weeks ago i deleted several files from my machine ( which i thought i didn’t use ). Thanks! any help apreciated.
