dvdrip(x-msvideo) in avi format to amv

hey ppl. I recently bought a chinese ipod look a like mp4 player. It can only play videos in amv format though. I got this amv convert tool and it worked fine. I also recently downloaded a borat from ares, it’s a dvdrip. The movie file is in a avi format and it says it’s a x-msvideo. My converter says it can convert avi formats but when I convert, it keeps saying error. Is this because it’s a x-msvideo? Do I need some other converter? Anybody who has anything that would be helpful, please post.
