Woah waoh I believe a few days ago I stated that MP3 would come out in August. Haha I was right. Oh NIntendo just made a press release discussing it’s summer lineup and it’s pretty kickass:

July 30 Mario Strikers Charged Nintendo
Aug. 20 Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Nintendo
September Battalion Wars 2 Nintendo
Aug. 14 High School Musical: Sing It! Disney Interactive Studios
Aug. 14 Madden NFL ‘08 EA
August Tiger Woods PGA Tour ‘08 EA
August Space Station Tycoon Namco Bandai
August Brunswick Pro Bowling Crave
August Dave Mirra BMX Challenge Crave
August Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection Crave
September Brothers in Arms Ubisoft
September Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal Warner Bros.
September George of the Jungle Crave
Fall Boogie EA

Sweetness. MP3, Battalion Wars, BIA, Strikers, and Boogie in teh same quarter. Sounds like a good lineup.

Boogie is an original IP from EA basically a mix of Sinstar and Dance Dance Revolution.

But yep great news.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption:

* Players will not have to re-gain all of their abilities.
* Players will have a corruption mode, similar to hyper mode, that will only be available to use for a limited amount of time.
* Players will not have to switch beams, as they combine.
* The developers are working closely with Nintendo themselves to include some sort of online functionality.
* Planned to be released this year, “sooner than most are expecting.”

He posted that up some time yesterday.

I am gald to see a release date but I would really have liked to see it released in November. Anyways still, multiplayer has not been announced yet. I am still waiting on that. As for the beams, if it is like Super Metroid then I hope that you can at least turn beams on and off for different combinations, that would give the game more depth.

I just still want to know if any multiplayer is in it and how the beams will be used in the game. One of the major parts of the any metroid game was switching beam weapons. In the first and second you only had 1 at a time and switched it at a chozo statue. They were interchangeable in Super Metroid. The Prime Series worked well with it switching on the fly. Fusion was the only one where the beams fully stacked and you had all the past beams but a new feature with each one. Super Metroid was great for combining them. I just hope there is some sort of interchangeable beam feature in MP3.

I’m pretty sure MP3: C is going to feature a multiplayer but I’m just hopiong that it’ll be online. If Nintendo and Retro Studios wanted to they could make MP3 the big shooter online game that Wii needs.

But if NIntendo doesn’t do it then Ubisoft is going to pull through. Cuase you can bet your ass that Red Steel 2 will have online multiplayer and that would be awesome. And I think BIA: Double Time will feature it as well. Either way if NIntendo doesn’t start it Ubisoft will which is just that much better for Ubisoft.

Heck Nintendo will get another online fragfest game for the wii soon. I mean MPH is an online fragfest and it is one of the greatest shooters ever made. I bet if they made a MPH2 for the DS or as more of an expansion for the wii between MP2E and MP3C it would be great I mean I am still speculating on this picture.

Still I have been wondering on this for a while.

That would be amazing. But I’m hoping MP3: C will have online multiplayer. All NIntendo has to do is just implement it and you know well and it could be amazing.

It better have it. Don’t delay a game for nothing. =/

Man, I thought it was coming at the end of the year. I don’t care about that big list, MP3 is all I need...

Alright let’s get one thing straight. MP3 was never ever going to be a Wii launch game. That was just a placeholder from Nintendo and Retro Studios to build hype. MP3 was always going to be a 2007 game. Really it’s coming out earlier than most should have expected it.

Will it have online? Maybe. It will most likely have downloadable content but online I don’t know. But it’s about a 50/50 chance.

Never said it was to be a launch game. But I figured sooner than more than halfway into the year.

I had actually expected MP3 to be pushed back into 2008. But it seems like Galaxy is the one that is going to get the push.

'Tis a shame...

I’m still holding hopes for the end of the year. Who knows? But, I guess I can’t complain. Miyamoto has a big game on his hands. Gotta be solid.
