AVI conversion problem

Hi,

I have AIPTEK 3100 digital camcorder and I have a problem with it’s AVI files.
When I put AVI files from camcorder to any video editing software, all I get is black screen and sound. Can anyone help me and give a suggestion, so I can finally work normally with it.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I tried converting AVI to MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 but it’s still the same.

You might not havr the correct codecs installed run your avi file through G-Spot http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ it will tell you if you have the correct codecs if you dont it will tell you which ones are needed and you can find them off the net.
