Halo 3 will be the first to go over the 5 million mark but Brawl is going to sale very fast as well and steady cause it’s a very worldly title. MGS4 isn’t even in this haha. Um I’m going to have to go with Halo 3 for now with Brawl very close behind. ---

But after about 3 months I’m guessing it will sell nice and steadily, but not super fast. ---

SSBB on the other hand will sale great early due to fanbase but still stay pretty high and steady because it’s very worldly. Will be saling quite well everywhere. ---

Wow...
I can already say PS3 is our of the question because production/release is way too slow to have enough consoles to have that many games, so its the fact of Brawl versus Halo 3.
Halo 3, no doubt will sell WAY faster then SSBB, but that will be it’s downfall if 7 million are not released by then. It’s like me trying to get a wii, they sold too fast, so i couldn’t get one until sales slowed down.
SSBB might have enough in production by then, with the less graphical power. It will sell fast, but might be able to get more out quicker. Same story as Halo 3, It will sell too fast to even be able to buy one.
My guess though will be Halo 3 because there are more 360’s already sold, thus meaning that there will be more people trying to buy the game. ---

I mean, I certainly don’t see 70 percent of 360 owners just going out and buying Halo 3 and I sure as hell don’t see 110 percent of Wii owners buying Smash Brothers brawl. ---

Guardian of MvC Rep: 89 Joined: 06 Jan 2006 Posts: 44,549 OFFLINE | Well... MGS4 is obviously out of the picture due to the Ps3 not having enough consoles on the market to reach the point.
I guess we should first look at the past to help determine the future yeah?
Halo: Combat Evolved sold through 1 million units in 5 months, since it’s release less then 6 years ago it’s sold roughly 5 million units.
Halo 2 Sold through 2 million plus units in just 24 hours, and 7 million in about 1 year.
Super Smash Brothers sold through rougly 6 million units since it’s release. (couldn’t find much info)
Super Smash Brothers Melee sold through about 7 million consoles since it’s release. (once again, couldn’t find much info)
Judging by the fact that Halo 2 sold 7 million in a year and Melee did the same in about 6 years I’d have to say that Halo 3 will reach that before Melee.
However, the Wii does have a larger fanbase then the Gamecube and that could easily contribute to sales, I’d say that by the time H3 hits 7 mill that Brawl will have hit about 5 million. ---

Pete da Beast Guest | Halo 2 sold 9.2Million copies.
Melee sold 7.2Million copies.
here were 24Million Xbox’s sold and 21 Million GC’s sold.
An exact 1/3 of GC owners have Melee.
Arounf 1/2,5 halo games were sold in comparison to Xbox consoles sold.
Its going to be a though one.
Hmm, I think I’ll go with the Wii on this one, here’s why:
The Wii is pretty new, the 360 has been out for 2 years almost. Wii owners are still building up and waiting solely on Brawl and Galaxy to come out (2 of my friends and a cousin are waiting for just brawl to come out to get a Wii).
360 owners have their game library pretty packed and are least likely to get any more games (not to mention those who have a 360 and don’t play it...I know a couple of cases...).
The Wii owners still play, its only been 6 months, say Brawl comes out in 2 months or so, June or July or so, they will still want it. 360 owners will only get 360.
Overall, I could be wrong but I think the first few days Halo will outsell, but Brawl will catch up soon after and pass Halo 3, not by far. It will outsell in the long-run and you have take things into account:
Halo 2 and Halo 3 both have online.
Brawl has new online play, NEW to the franschise.
Halo 3 is Halo 2 with improved graphics, and now online CO-OP to 4 players.
Gameplay on both will stay the same.. It’s going to be a tought one.
Since the Wii will outsell the 360 (sold 7.2M 360 has sold 10M, in 2 years, its stupid not to admit it) it will probably get more people to get it.
Ugh, tough one.
Almost forgot about the PS3... lol < — - There, enough said.

Cause we never could tell with the 1st 2 game seeing that the one on N64 was the first one and New IPs never have huge explosion of sales. And then the 2nd one was so close to launch that it just couldn’t. So it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Brawl. It could explode like Halo does. ---

Pete da Beast Guest | How does VGCharts come to be any better than Wikipedia?
Anyways, on VG it says it beats Melee by 20 thousand copies.
Yet, every other site states Melee is the best seller WORLDWIDE on the GC?

While VGCharts gets actual numbers on sales and is quite reliable. ---
