Microsoft tonight revealed the official release date for Halo 3, and the game will be released to the masses on September 25th. While this date is much earlier in the calendar year than when Halo 2 was released, not only will this allow the company to sell a boatload of copies of the game before the busy holiday rush, but it will also be sure to move a lot of Xbox 360 hardware.
“‘Halo 3’ is much more than a video game release; it’s the biggest entertainment event of the year,” said Peter Moore, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business. “On Sept. 25, we intend to deliver a finale that will go down in entertainment history and leave people around the world with an experience that will be shared and enjoyed for years to come.”
Also interesting is that this release date is just two days after the Tokyo Game Show which ends on September 23rd. Could Microsoft be aiming to steal the thunder away from what normally is Sony’s big show? Could be.
BAM!

You heard it, H3 will release September 25th, 4 days after my birthday I might add, good timing too. I’ll have something worthy to spend my b-cash on.
