A lot of people I have talked to think that Heroes is vastly different from Marvel comic’s “x-men”. I’m here to tell you that you are sadly mistaken. First off, one of the producers for heroes was originally a writer for x-men. Secondly, genetic mutation ring a bell? That would be the theme for both series. Third, charactor similarities:
Peter Petrelli = Rogue, both can absorb others powers, and both are later shown to use old absorbed powers.
Nathan Petrelli = Beast, both ran for office and both can be concidered politically active mutants.
Hiro Nakamura = Nightcrawler, both teleported and had a joking manner about them through most of the series.
Linderman vs. Suresh = Magnito vs. Xavier, the mutants are spliting into two groups, one headed by each of these inteligent leaders, it’s kinda obvious if you watch the show. Also might I add that originally in the comics, Xavier didn’t possess any mutant powers, neither does Suresh. Late into the comics Magnito and Xavier become allies, such as when Magnito taught at Xavier’s school. In flash-forwards of the show Suresh is seen to be working with Linderman to protect mutants from a new threat (Think apocolypse)
That is my side, what do you guys think? ---
