I to bought one of these off ebay for our daughter.
The main problem is that they all have hacked memory chips which means your 4GB is probably 512MB or 1GB if you are lucky. This means that when you start adding files beyond the true memory capacity the player crashes and will not accept new files or let you delete any old files.
If your player is completely dead you may need to follow the guide at this link before being able to load your firmware: http://www.mympxplayer.org/dead-player-recovery-guide-vt567.html
Have a look on the same site for your firmware.
If you get your player up and running again you will probably need to remove the memory hack so that the player will function normally in the future there is a guide at this link: http://www.mympxplayer.org/1-vt2400.htm
Removing the hack does work as I have done it and my 8GB player turned into a 1GB player but now works fine, well so far so good!!!
Just to add if you get your player running try the firmware at this link: http://mympxplayer.org/full-firmware-act2097s721-9043-df454.html
