Entree Rep: 0 Joined: 31 Mar 2007 Posts: 3 OFFLINE | I have a jvc everio camera and the hard drive saves the files in a .mod file....and i was wondering if any1 knew of a program that i can convert that file with to a file that i can use in windows media for easy veiwing and simple editing on windows movie maker......or if any1 has any better ideas?.....thanx

Roger9999 Guest | The quick way is to rename the file extention from .mod to .mpg - which for some reason seems to work. Only do this after moving it to your PC.
I am still trying to resolve the MOD widescreen format though - which seems to record in normal format and then stetch it out on playback. It looks ok on the camera or the bundled software, but views as distorted normal format when viewing in my Ulead video editing software.

Entree Rep: 0 Joined: 20 Apr 2007 Posts: 1 OFFLINE | The jvc camera has got two option one for 16:9 and 4:3 chek well with your camcorder you will find it but mainly do it prior to recording, Im having a problem with this jvc camera i renamed the file from .mod to mpeg and it plays well in media player and windvd but if i put it in the adobe premiere timeline and export it there is no sound but if you play it by preview sound will come out
