Whew, that was spooky. My parents and I were driving home from church, and I was riding shotgun when all of a sudden a spire of cloud just started descending about 3-4 miles right in front of us. At first I was in slight shock since there had been no alert for severe weather for Lubbock, but that changed quick as I watched the funnel touch the ground and slightly widen.

So, we raced home, prepped a closet in case the shit hit the fan, and just sat back and waited. The storm front is just lifting now and there’s only been minor damage reports, but this is really my first eyewitness experience with a tornado.

I did have a disposable camera with me and snapped a picture too little too late as it disappeared behind a building that obscured it for a few minutes. But to give a clearer idea to you guys of what I saw, I’d say this is about what it looked like, only about twice as far away-

So, right now, I’m just enjoying the next breath of fresh air....as well as praising God for keeping me and my family safe.

Yeah, check the weather channel. Lubbock’s had a bunch of shit blow over in the last few hours. And we’ve had reports of about 3 tornadoes touching down and 6 funnel clouds that didn’t...

Scary stuff, that.

Actually some tornadoes can be so weak that you can walk with 10 yards of it and if you jump you will slowly fall to the ground... really cool stuff...

Interesting. Was the picture enough to do justice? How long did it last?

lol, I think the picture sucks because as I was fumbling for the damn camera, the funnel went behind a building and out of sight, I snapped at the last sec, so I don’t think you can really see it. Shoulda snapped it on the highway. And GR, it lasted I don’t know how long....we had a good sight on it for about five minutes.

And Predator, California ain’t got Shit on Texas, so STFU.

That’s not the actual pic, I put that up to give everyone a general idea of what it looked like. I used a disposable camera. I had a digital with me, but not enough time to crawl in the back of my car and grab it. The awe of the moment is partially to blame smiley

Yeah, but I’ll be amazed if the pic I took turns out. I’ll post it if it does though...

we have almost twice your population, make almost twice your gross income, and the average income for people is about $8,619 more for californians then people in texas. we are above the national average by over $5,000, you are below it by almost $4,000. whats texas got? cows....
