Help! I have the first season of 24 in AVI files on my computer. Some of the episodes work and others don’t (Season 1 Episode 3 works but not Episode 4). The file format is exactly the same from what I can tell: 24 Season 1 Episode 03 - 2am-3am.avi and the other is 24 Season 1 Episode 04 - 3am-4am.avi .
I’ve downloaded K-lite and have tried in:
Real Player (message: Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported.),
Windows Media (message: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file),
DivX: (message: Failed to open file. Please check that it is a valid video file)
Media Player Classic: Message: Cannot render file
I don’t understand what is making the difference from one episode to the next! All these programs are updated as well.
Please help me!
Thank you!

marsbar Guest | I also wanted to add one more thing...I tried using GSpot and it can’t find any codecs for it either!

Mathieu G Guest | Maybe the files are broken.
Have you tried with VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/)?

jeni_pong Guest | hey guys, i need help here..
I have an avi file, i don’t have a problem with the sound. It just won’t show the video. Divx says i need to install “DirectShow Decoder”.. But my biggest problem is i don’t know what to install specifically. There’s a lot of DirectShow Decoder but i don’t know which one to install. Please help asap.. Thanks in advance
