hello guys, hopefully one of you could help me out. If downloaded 2 videos off the net (japanese in origin) and i am unable to play them. i ran both of them thru G-Spot, and ive got the video codec as DX50, and the audio codec as Ogg-Vorbis (i have both of these codecs - recently installed). all of the info gspot says the video is fine, but i am unable to render the video in G-Spot, i tried opening the video with Avic, and they both have the same tags (fourCC descrp: ||vo , fourCC used codec rg|). if anyone has any idea how to play these, i would really appreciate it

vorbis audio can’t be put in an avi container. this immediately tells me you probably had an ogm container, not avi. (ogm, although it’s a different container, can use avi-compatible codecs.)
Just to be sure in gspot does the Type box say 'application/x-ogg' or 'AVI' or 'OpenDML AVI'.
If it’s an ogm file try playing it with media player classic (www.gabest.org), or feed it into virtualdubmod (virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net). I think there’s other more formal resources on how to get ogm working in windows, but those two worked for me. Google for additional info.
