Osteoporosis is a skeletal disease, in which the bones become fragile and easy to break. It is due to a combination of factors that include genetics, diet, hormones, age, and lifestyle. It is the primary cause of hip fracture, which can lead to permanent disability. Osteoporosis can cause the spine to collapse producing stooped posture and a “dowager’s hump”. Even the simplest things such as stepping off a curb, bending to pick something up, or even sneezing can cause fragile bones to break. The chronic pain and anxiety that occurs often cause people to stop activities that contribute to a meaningful life. It is important that osteoporosis is prevented.
When someone obtains the osteoporosis disease, typical fractures occur in the spinal vertebrae, hip, and wrist. Collapse of a vertebra can cause one or a combination of the following: back pain, a hunched forward or bent stature, loss of height; limited mobility, and possibly disability, permanent at that. Fractures of the long bones disable mobility, and may require surgery. Hip fracture, in particular, usually requires prompt surgery, as there are serious risks associated with a hip fracture, taking thrombosis for example.
Drinking huge amounts of alcohol can increase the risk of osteoporosis. Besides that, there aren’t many foods that increase the risk; most are actually needed to prevent osteoporosis. It’s highly important to consume as much vitamin D and calcium as possible; low amounts won’t give the bones enough fuel, eventually causing them to break down.
Vitamin D and calcium are important for reducing osteoporosis’ effect, because they make the bones stronger. At the same time, people who take supplements should keep in mind that it is possible to consume excess amounts of these and other nutrients. Foods that one should eat for prevention include sesame seeds, squash, salmon and other fish (including the skin and fat), mineral water, and fresh fruits. It’s important to keep the body physically active; People who remain physically active throughout life have a lower risk of osteoporosis.
Teenagers should care about the disease...

Good job. Perhaps the only thing I would say to improve is to separate the Paragraphs. Oh and the above mentioned referencing. Thats very important too. But apart from that, It is informative, easy to read and it flows reasonably well. Keep on that track and you should pass, no problemsmiley
