I want to rip my game disc’s into .r01 file extension.I’ve noticed online that you can get games and they have like 51 of these files, and the last one is a .rar, and then all you do is extract that .rar file and their is the image, and you can mount it or w/e. and i really want to back up my game disc’s using this style. so could anyone please help me thanks.

I have a feeling that I just need to copy the game disc using nero or something like that, and get it into a .iso, or .bin file and then split that image up. I used hjsplit, but that just made .001-,050 files. and no .rar file containing the image file... so can some one please help me, and please be specific, like what exactly to do, and what programs i will need. thanks smiley.

well if you use winrar on those 50 files it should compress them in to rar files. just set it to compile an archive/ add to archive. Something along those lines.

I know exactly what you want to do, I just haven’t ever reversed the process before to find out how it is done. I can safely say that you will need Winrar and it will, from experiance need to be set as an archive to get the chronological order for unzipping the files.

Hope this helps a little.smiley

Thanks, another person told me to use VirtualCd, and winrar. They say make a copy of the disc, then just take that copy, and in winrar make a archive, and set it to volumes. So simple that it was hard lol. hope this helps someone else.
