P.S. updating firmware will invalidate warranty

Ximena Guest | Hi guys! I have the same problems with my Mp3/Mp4 player. A friend of mine brought it for me from China... and now the !@@#~|#@~thing is not working and I really don´t know what to do. It does turn off whenever it wants, my music doesn’t appear, it says that the memory is almost full (when I only loaded 3 songs), I can’t access the player from my computer... As you can see I’m starting to get REALLY MAD!!... does anyone know what can I do to fix it? I just can’t change it for a working one. My e-mail is xihiza@gmail.com

Outside, it says 8GB
It clearly cannot hold that much, and after 6 or 700mB, any subsequent files added get “Format Error”
Back in April, DaftScouser pointed out in this forum that these cheapie players have hacked memory, made to appear larger than they really are. After reformatting according to his technique, I am left with a usable 470MB !!
At least it works...
Most of the problems enountered were due to the memory hack, not the firmware.

I would like to help, but I simply got no idea of where to find the extraction tool, note that s1fwx does not work on this firmware, it tells (reading and writing error)
