I had the same problem, try using Windows Media Player 9. Load some music into the Windows Media Player and use the “sync” tab to transfer the files to your player.

There has been some really good input on resolving some of these issues, most notably by the user called “Gunneman."

MY DEVICE:
I am using Wilson Co. Ltd’s S1MP3/MP4 Player, Version 9.1.52, with Windows XP Pro.

As “Gunne” points out, one should really try to read the users manual, (as difficult, and occasionally humourous as it may be).

INSTALLING THE DRIVERS:
You MUST install ALL of the drivers that show up on the disk.(With the exception of maybe two.)

Once you install the driver for the version of your device, then you MUST go back to the Auto Run Screen and install the Codecs, such as STORM and FFDSHOW, QUICKTIME etc. Sometimes there are unneeded drivers for things like a phone book etc, but you need to differentiate these from the ones you REALLY need, and it may not be obvious from the manual, unless you really TRY to read it.

VIDEO CONVERSION:
The first thing you notice is that the player(s) does NOT play AVI’s nor MP4’s. It plays AMV files. If you have a program which allows you to take Your Own(tm) video file and burn it to a MPEG2/SVCD format, you can then start up the Converter Tool that you installed from the disk. Now you can “Dumb-Down” this MPEG2/SVCD to an AMV file, which is the ONLY video file that these devices appear to recognise.(correct me if I’m wrong there).

My Video copying program of choice:

-AoA DVD Ripping Tool (Google AoA)
Inexpensive and easy to use.(My favorite tool of choice for most quick projects like the ones we are discussing here. Costs about $30 US to download, doesn’t take up alot of Real Estate on the hard drive, is easy to figure out, and runs reliably.

That is my choice, but you should be able to use any DVD ripping tool, to convert Your Own(tm) dvd/video files to an MPEG/SVCD which can then be converted to an AMV using your MP3 Players Converter Program.

OTHER STUFF:
Another thing I noticed is that The Player likes to be plugged in to the SAME USB port each time. (I don’t know why this is. I don’t care. I just want the danged thing to work.)

Anyway, my frustrations with this product stem from the unreliability of the drivers which appear to have been poorly written from the get-go.

I purchased this device as a QA test for Chinese electronics, for my media company. ( I have not tested for lead paint yet, but I its probably there.)

My experience has been that Wilson Co. Ltd:
-while inviting the consumer to contact them, gives no contact info and virtually no support. (Big Surprise there, what does one want for $40 USD, eh?) ;o)
-Their user manually is only slightly useful to a person with intermediate to advanced computer experience.
-I would not make a serious purchase of this product.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.

My mp3 player device is dead because of wrong firmware upgrade.Mp3 player upgrade tool is now showing recovery mode. However, I have lost the recovery firmaware file during reinstallation of the mp3 player software.
I tried other available firmware versions to recover my mp3 player, but they are invalid.

Hi, I have same mp3, same firmware,...we got ripped off. I got a refund from the ebay seller after posting negative comments. They refunded my $28. Throw mp3 player against wall to get frustration out, then throw away. IT’S HACKED MEMORY — IT DON’T AND WON’T EVER WORK. I then purchased a mp3 from a U.S. location. The memory was tested and the player works great. Hope this helps.
