RealPlayer will not play .smil video clip

I’m trying to play a video clip ( http://abcnews.go.com/sections/wnt/videofiles/Video/040804votes_video_smi.smil ) from the ABCNews.com site. When I click on the link, I get a RealPlayer message saying it requires an added component. Then I get an error msg. saying: “no software update available from Real to support this content."

Can anyone explain to me what is causing the problem & if there’s a workaround or some other easy way to fix it? I’ve read a few threads here which talk about the need to download a video codec to fix the problem. Can I do this to fix my problem too?
