Another way to do it is to convert your files to wav and after that back again to a proper working mp3. I used CDEX for the job. It works perfectly now!

As_She_Fell_I_Smiled Guest | I have Vista Basic, windows media player 11, and a brand new computer.
I tried renaming the file, and either it wont let me, or I’m too retarded.
I downloaded the first codec pack. No change.
I downloaded the second codec pack. I find myself in a sea of letters and numbers that might make sense to a computer, but, to us humans, is complete gibberish.
It installed correctly (as far as I know) and now is giving me lists upon lists, and tabs upon tabs of what is (to me) useless options that I do not, and will never understand.
I guess my question is this: How and the hell do you get the K-Lite codec pack to work with WMP? Because there still seems to be no change.
And, to all you people who keep saying “Use something else” well, I can’t. It wont load in quicktime (because quicktime doesn’t “understand” this file type). And, even if I could get quicktime to work, I would only use it for that one song, because it sucks. VLC, from what I’ve seen, also sucks. In fact, pretty much everything that I’ve seen except WMP sucks.
