no audio during streaming videos

Hi all have a problem with no sound only when trying to watch streaming videos from sites like you tube.all other audio is fine on my system .tried reinstalling xp codecs microsoft adpcm and ima adpcm along with different codecs packs like fantasy 4.42,xp codec pack 2.06 etc still no audio.please help.
