I downloaded a movie from winmx but the damn thing doesnt seem to want to work. I think its because it has japanese subtitles. I’ve used the avic100 program to determine what the fourcc dscription code is ¹9· whatever that means. the fourcc used code is `. does this make sense to anyone? is there a specifically “japanese” codec out there?

Cheers guys.. I’m sorry to be a nuisance lol.

Yours,

Lord A

You probably mean you got gibberish in the box (non-letter, non-digit characters). Chances are the file is corrupt (if it’s even recognized as an avi). Fourcc’s are supposed to have only alphanumeric characters (letter and digits).
