I have solved the problem for Windows Vista.

VLC Media Player — > Settings — > Preferences — > Video — > Output Modules — > Set the settings to “Windows GDI video output”

Then Enjoyeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Andrzej’s solution is for vids that you have dl or have on your HDD present. Probs with such vids can easily be fixed by upgrading/installing new codecs(pack).

What the original user was talking abt is the following...having a black screen when he uses a streaming site such as youtube to play a video.
After (maximizing) a while that video screen goes black, until you press “esc”...

Vista gives you an error popup that your gfx drier was shut down and that it is fixed now. This problem can’t be solved by following andrzej’s solution.

Try reinstalling flashplayer, that solved my issue with it...

1)Open BSPlayer
2)Go to Menu/Options/Preferences
3)Click on Video
4)Click on Video rending
5)On Rending mode choose Internal renderer DirectDraw surface
6)Close and restart BSPlayer
