i downloaded three files which had extensions of .001, .002 and .003. At first i didn’t know that i had to join the three files with HJsplit and I thought that those were all playable with video players. The file extensions were unrecognizable by the computer so what I tried to do was I opened the file with .002 extension and something popped up with a message:

“Windows cannot open the file:"

and in the bottom part it said:

“What do you want to do?
_ Use the web service to find the appropriate program
_ Select the program from the list”

I chose select program from the list then I chose Windows media player but it still didn’t play.
Then I read from somewhere that the three files I’ve downloaded needs to be joined together by HJsplit inorder to play it. When I tried joining the 3 files by HJsplit, they didn’t join together.

I downloaded the one with .002 extension again and it was still the same. the .002 files were all played in windows media player.

I need help how to make the file unrecognizable to the computer again.
