Regular Rep: 6 Joined: 20 Nov 2004 Posts: 1,284 | When Windows Media Player can’t find the codec to play a file it will try to connect to the Microsoft server to find it. Unfortunately Microsoft’s server carries (almost) exclusively only their own codecs. Use a more reliable codec diagnostic utility like the ones listed on this page

download divx free
it has enough codecs in it for almost everythign and it’s a darn good little player too. not as laggy as windows media player can be sometimes.

Racku Guest | Yeah, could someone please explain what a codec even is? And I’ve tryed to play a video file on another computer, but it doesn’t work because it has the same error. This computer though, has no internet, so would that be the problem?
