quicktime error -2048

i have a panasonic dmc-f27 camera and when i take movies my windows based pc will sometimes play the files and sometimes not. When quicktime doesn’t play the file it says there is an error with the file - “error -2048 this file is not a movie file”. Trouble is in the properties of the file it all says it is a movie file and movies taken in the same session play fine. Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on?
