Hi,

Just found this sight and it looks pretty useful.

I want to distribute AVI files with my application and want to be able to play them using the Windows MCI interface. So, I need to compress them using a codec that my users will almost certainly have available and I need to know about any issues regarding codec installation. The AVIs will only 4-5 second, low res clips, so I don’t need really good quality.

It seems that a good codec to go for is the Intel Indeo 3.2 - any comments on this anyone??? Also how do I go about checking availabilty during an install, then installing it if it is not found? Will there be any copyright issues.

Sorry about the long question - Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

David
