hello all.

I am trying to find which media codec needed by SuperDVD Creator to open .rm files and convert them to either mpeg 1 or 2 or any other formats to burn to DVD or SVCD. I already have RealOne Player installed on my computer.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

you can d/l a program call winavi, and it converts ALL media files to dvd format. then all the files that are made, you just make two folders one “video_ts” & “audio_ts” and dump all the files in the video_ts folder and you can burn with nero...

You have to do the update of the Windows Media Player 9, so the message about needing its codec will go away

I was also getting the codec error when trying to run WinAVI Video Converter. I installed windows medial 9 then 10 then 9 than 10 than 10 update but still no good. I searched around net and installed free real.com medial player. Search and did not need the $ 14 day trial version. Installed it reran WinAVI Video Converter and no longer get message :-)

i have real player 10, i have windows media player 9, i have quicktime player 6.5 or higher, and i have winavi, the error message about quicktime codec 6.5 went away when i opened the winavi, but the realmedia codec message still did not go away, i have read this forum well, and it states in one of them that after downloading and installing the real player the message should go away when opening winavi, but it hasn’t, i don’t understand this, i can still use the software, but im sick of seeing the message, i’d like it to just start, but i have to wait till the message pops up and then close it out first. that gets annoying, if anyone knows the problem and can help it would be appreciated since i did everything stated in the forum and still get the message. thank you.

Thanks for the pointers, but being a bit stupid I have no idea what I have to do with the files in the rmdll.rar file...

Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks!

you need to download a program called winrar to open the files so you can install it

Thanks for the reply, but I already know how to do that. I don’t know what to do with the files after I’ve extracted them...

Anyway, it doesn’t matter now because I installed RealAlternative instead, which fixes the missing codec problem without infesting my machine with the evil of RealAudio spyware/adware.

Extract http://www.winavi.com/RMdll.rar to your winavi folder in program files. This will take care of error on WINAVI. For a good program that has played every kind of media I have downloaded so far go to a torrent site and get the VLC Media Player. This plays EVERYTHING.
