I know this sounds stupid, but how do you change the registry files, like bea explains?
I also have quite sound, and dont understand the commands to increase it!

Pleas help

click on start->run
and type in “regedit”
the registry software will popup
search thru the folder
HKEY_CURRENT_USER->software->AC3Filter->preset
under preset..

click on the 3 folder , _default, loud and standard..

and inside each of those folder change the 'master' key.. and change it from 1.000000 to 10.000000

you rename “ac3audio.ax” to something like “ac3audio.ax.old”....

but for mine i dont get sound though. just try that

I just wanted to say thank you, it worked for me.
The error media player and PowerDVD and Divxplayer were giving was the same: signature error on ac3audio.ax
By renaming it the player did its job bypassing the audio filter and now I finally have these 4 movies playing loud and clear. Thanx a bunch!

Thanks,Banjan_aaron!!
Your solution works for me. Everytime I download the movie with big file (1,400Mcool using AC3, I can hardly hear the sound even using speakers.
Now, I can really enjoy all those movies.
Thanks again!!

Guys,

In regards to the volume problem with AC3Filter,
after installing the program, just go into “Control Panel”. You will see an AC3 icon, click on it to open the configuration menu for AC3.

On the first tab at the bottom, under “Preset”, use the “LFE Boost” setting, this should correct the sound volume problem without affecting the rest of the set-up. You also need to adjust the “wave” volume as described before

Here’s a solution for those of you who don’t want to mess up your registry go to your control pannel and click the AC3 filter option and raise the master volume.
