playing mpg files

I installed an avi. to mpeg converter and now I cannot play any files that are mpg or mpeg. I think I have every codec but I must be wrong. Can any one help?

When you converted them, did you convert them to mpeg-1 or mpeg-2? I’m guessing mpeg-2 most likely. If that’s the case get 1. videolan or 2. media player classic or 3. the elecard mpeg-2 decoder or 4. dvd software.
