Wasn’t able 2 play a downloaded video from WinMX using Win Media Player, so turned 2 Real Player Ver. 10.0 n got this msg. “DirectShow-compatible MPEG-2 decoder”.

3rd parties directshow compatible mpeg-2 seem not to work under XP. Dont know why!!

ZZ Guest | I have installed also “Moonlight MPEG-2 Decoder Pack 2.1.4921 Evaluation”, it works !!!!! but!!!! it seems not to be100% (esp. sound), but I have no idea,if it will work after some evaluation period....
I hate that eval.periods....it sucks!

topcat139 Guest | Dscaler audio and video mpeg2 codecs. Free. Not as grainy or cpu intensive as gpl mpeg2.
The elecards run for 21 days. To continue using them you can simply uninstall and reinstall. or remove the lt.dll and synsh files, then complete the install. Best though, extract the filters from the archive and register them by hand. No more time outs.
PS, this info is from the horses mouth so to speak. (tip from elecard prior to the merger with mainconcept)

ferdd Guest | I was having the same problem, but waited 'till the file downloaded 100%. It works.
Sometimes the files have the codecs needed to play at the end. If that makes sense.
