Wasn’t able 2 play a downloaded video from WinMX using Win Media Player, so turned 2 Real Player Ver. 10.0 n got this msg. “DirectShow-compatible MPEG-2 decoder”.
SOS guyz n galz!

I had the same problem. I downloaded the mpeg 2 player from this site...

Tried the path , but something is wrong to download that file. Trying the elencard site or other compatible soft.
3rd parties directshow compatible mpeg-2 seem not to work under XP. Dont know why!!

dumb thaat you cant just download a video file and watch it and then its over with, on to the next! there is to many variables now

hey i tried all of those downloads and i’m still having troubles playing mpg files that i actually could play fine yesterday. grrrr. stupid computer. if anyone has any ideas, i’d be super grateful. thank you!

I have installed also “Moonlight MPEG-2 Decoder Pack 2.1.4921 Evaluation”, it works !!!!! but!!!! it seems not to be100% (esp. sound), but I have no idea,if it will work after some evaluation period....
I hate that eval.periods....it sucks!
If you have othere experiences, let me know...bye

Dscaler audio and video mpeg2 codecs. Free. Not as grainy or cpu intensive as gpl mpeg2.
The elecards run for 21 days. To continue using them you can simply uninstall and reinstall. or remove the lt.dll and synsh files, then complete the install. Best though, extract the filters from the archive and register them by hand. No more time outs.

PS, this info is from the horses mouth so to speak. (tip from elecard prior to the merger with mainconcept)

It worked fine for me w/o the activation code. Just cancel the activation thing and play the files.

Here is a freeware from Russia,http://www.xmediasoft.ru/?x=prog&id=750 Coda 3.3 with a Cyberlink MPEG2 Decoder included.

I was having the same problem, but waited 'till the file downloaded 100%. It works.
Sometimes the files have the codecs needed to play at the end. If that makes sense.
